Aquatic Organisms- organisms found in water habitats such as ponds, marshes, swamps, rivers, and oceans
Carnivore- an animal that eats only other animals
Community-All living things in one place that interact.
Consumer-an animal that eats living organisms
Decomposer- organism that breaks down decayed plants and animals into smaller pieces that can be used again by other living organisms.
Ecosystem- Living and nonliving things that interact in an environment
Aquatic Ecosystems- those with fresh water or salt water and include ponds, marshes, swamps, streams, rivers, and oceans
Terrestrial Ecosystems- are those on dry land and include deserts, grasslands, rain forests, and forests
Food Chain-shows a food relationship among plants and animals in a specific area
Food Web-several food chains that are connected
Habitat-the home of a living thing
Herbivore- an animal that eats only plants
Omnivore- an animal that eats both plants and animals
Population- Members of a single type of organism in an ecosystem
Producer-is an organism such as a plant that makes its own food
Predator-an animal that hunts other animals to get its food
Prey-an animal that is hunted by another animal for food
